Elon Musk is known for his sometimes surprising theories. This time, he shared with the audience of the popular podcast his theory about the true identity of the creator of the bitcoin cryptocurrency who hides under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto.
It is difficult to deny Elon Musk not only intelligence, but also an excellent understanding of the world of new technologies. Thanks to them he managed to achieve success with PayPal, Tesla or SpaceX, and his tweets can change the prices of cryptocurrencies in a fraction of a second. On this occasion, Musk again referred to the topic of virtual money during his participation in Lex Fridman’s podcast and revealed to the audience his still unconfirmed theory about who was the true creator of cryptocurrencies.
For a long time, this person has been able to hide under the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto of Japan. However, many researchers are of the opinion that this is not true, as there are many indications that he may be a native Englishman. According to Elon Musk, the creator of bitcoin, the cryptocurrency that started the virtual money craze, is renowned computer scientist Nick Szabo. To confirm his theory, the president of SpeceX cites the technologies in which the computer scientist worked before the appearance of bitcoin on the network and that virtual currency is a natural extension of his ideas.
Nick Szabo is a computer scientist specializing in cryptography, which is the foundation of cryptocurrencies. 10 years before the appearance of bitcoin (2008), he developed bit gold, a decentralized digital currency mechanism that, however, was never implemented, but laid the foundation for bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Szabo is also responsible for creating a smart contract, a mechanism used in 2015 as the basis for the blockchain used by Ethereum, another popular cryptocurrency.
